22 September 2026 Media Statement: Chief Justice announces acting warrant

The Chief Justice is pleased to announce the appointment of the Hon Justice Christine Grice as an Acting Judge of the High Court from 1 October 2026 to 31 December 2027.

This appointment is made by the Governor-General acting on the advice of the Attorney-General, and is made to enable Justice Grice to rehear certain proceedings under the Marine and Coastal Area (Takutai Moana) Act 2011 that the Judge previously presided over, and to assist with the broader workload of the court.
